I love wedding planning, but thats not where I started! I started my working career as a hairdresser straight out of school which allowed me to step into a world of fashion-led design. Working for Toni & Guy and Vidal Sassoon in the early 2000s, I got my first taste of the fashion world—photo shoots, catwalk shows across Europe, and the fast-paced, coffee-fueled days of high-intensity work. I lived and loved it!

However, life threw an unexpected curveball when a sudden attack of shingles triggered an allergy to sodium lauryl sulfate—a major ingredient in shampoo. As you can imagine, that posed a bit of an issue for a hairstylist! At the ripe age of 21, I had to pivot, never really thinking I would do anything else. I landed in sales as a stopgap while figuring out my future, which unexpectedly led to a 20-year career in sales and marketing across various sectors.

Then, one day, after returning from a business trip to the US, Lindsay and I had a heart-to-heart about what we wanted life to look like in the next five years. Lindsay shared how much she loved planning weddings and missed doing so, while I expressed my desire to return to a fast-paced, creative environment. We knew we wanted to start something together but weren’t sure what that would be—until a serendipitous moment changed everything.

Some family members from the US got engaged, and their dream wedding destination? Italy! Since we’re partly based in the UK, we could get to their venue in just a couple of hours. So, we took a trip to check it out, recorded the venue, met vendors, and captured what getting married there looked and felt like. When we presented our findings to the couple, their reaction—and that of their friends—was unanimous: “Why on earth aren’t you doing this for a living?”

That moment sparked something in both of us. Lindsay was in her element, thriving in her organizational bubble, and I felt an old creative side of my brain burst into action—seeing layouts, concepts, and envisioning what didn’t yet exist. We flew back home and made a bold decision: to give this business idea three months. We would throw ourselves into it and see where it led.

With Lindsay’s decade of wedding planning experience, we knew where to start and who to approach. And since then, it has been a dream come true. We get to meet couples at the beginning of their wedding journey and witness firsthand how our work impacts them. Sometimes, it’s as simple as confirming that an idea they had is a great one; other times, we provide a missing piece that brings everything together.

One of our favorite rituals is reflecting on each wedding we plan. On our way home, we share our three favorite moments from the day. Nearly every time, our answers are completely different—Lindsay sees the months of planning come to life in perfect execution, while I see a blank canvas transformed into something magical. This balance allows us to tackle weddings of all sizes and the inevitable challenges that come with them.

And you know what? I wouldn’t want to do anything different!
